Don’t Bother: Books to Pass Up
These books are a waste of your time and money — in my humble opinion.
Bishop, Leonard: “Dare to Be a Great Writer: 329 Keys to Powerful Fiction” Badly written. Some of the topics are good, some didn’t make any sense to me, and nowhere was his writing good enough to make me want to emulate him.
Turco, Lewis: “Dialogue” A protracted dialogue about dialogue that doesn’t adequately cover what dialogue should do, although it exhaustively covers what dialogue is and how its punctuated. However it does so in so disorganized a fashion that you would grow old trying to find something again to refer back to. Skip it.
