Still Here!
I apologize for not posting for so long. It’s been for the best of all reasons — I’ve been writing. Since my 500 word a day goalsetting back in August, I’ve written 42,000 words of the new novel. By tonight it will be more than 43,000.
What there is to be said for writing quickly:
• It develops a momentum of its own. The more you write, the more you want to write — sort of like that.
• I feel better. And I’m no longer irritated with myself for not writing when I know I should be (a perennial feeling for me for much of the last couple of decades).
• A sense of accomplishment. Like, wow, it’s been two months and the thing is nearly halfway written already!
• It’s on my mind so much that the ideas are coming thick and fast.
• It’s become a habit — I don’t have to remind myself that I need to write today.
• It’s easier to get started — I don’ t have to put myself in the mindset of where I am in the book, because it hasn’t been long enough since I last wrote for it to get away from me. (This blog is another story….)
• Best of all — it will be done soon, so I can start on the next thing!

That’s awesome news! I’m glad it’s working out better than fine
All this experience of yours has inspired some questions. Since you’re busy, perhaps they could serve as blog prompts for later?
1) What’s a story arc and how to develop it
2) A guide into twists? How do you make them? How do you find the right twist?
Hoping your writing keeps on the right track,
